Chill Out & Ambient New Age Musician Mark Barnes was honored at this year’s 19th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards, which was held at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California on Thursday, November 12th, 2009 with the Soloist of the Year Award.  Barnes a local resident of Port St. Lucie, Florida and multiple Award Recipient was a nominee in 2 categories and walked away with the 2009 Producer Choice for Soloist of the Year.  Barnes was previously recognized with the 2008 Independent National Artist of the year award from the Phoenix Music Awards and was a performer as well as the recipient of the 2008 Hollywood F.A.M.E. Award for Music & Cinema at the 18th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards last year.

Barnes' current CD "The Awakening", which received the nod for the award, was in the preliminary consideration for last year's Gammy Awards.  Barnes is current working on his new CD "Alive" which is expected to be released mid 2010.  "Alive" will elevate his music to a new level and feature a concert tour to coincide with the CD release, combining his music with Animation, Video and special effect for a full multi-media & music experience.

The Los Angeles Music Awards which also incorporates the Hollywood F.A.M.E Awards and Phoenix Music Awards is a long time running awards show, dedicated solely to furthering and showcasing the works of the independent musician.
